Effective management is essential for the success of any organization, as managers play a critical role in motivating and retaining employees while driving productivity and achieving business goals. As such, investing in comprehensive management training programs can significantly impact an organization's success.

The opportunity:

Clari wanted to empower and equip its new and existing people managers with the most advanced and practical tools to elevate their people and profit management skills. The ultimate goal was to achieve outstanding outcomes for the company, teams and individuals.

The solution:

Clari partnered with Electives to develop a comprehensive management training program.

We developed a customized series of classes on tough conversations, feedback, delegation and other management techniques, with one instructor teaching the entire series to create consistency of voice. Classes were scheduled across three days, with each building upon the previous one. Electives sent a series of learning nudges after each class.

The comprehensive management training program addressed a variety of crucial topics to help participants become more effective in their roles as people managers. Topics and activities included:

  • Practical guidance and interactive exercises to prepare participants for difficult conversations, manage different perspectives and create shared solutions with confidence and speed.
  • Simple and direct ways to see conflict and resistance as opportunities for communication and growth.
  • How to approach difficult conversations with skill and confidence while also learning how to give effective feedback.
  • A simple six-step model for giving feedback to anyone — up, down or across.
  • Why both positive and negagive feedback is vital to personal and colleague development.
  • Essential aspects of creating a culture of trust, including the behaviors and attitudes that inspire or erode trust.
  • How to manage resistance to feedback.
  • A comprehensive framework for identifying skill gaps.
  • How to have conversations with colleagues and direct reports about what they need and how to get it.
  • Methods for delegation without drama.

The results:

Participant feedback highlighted the practicality and effectiveness of the program.

Participants of the manager training program found it to be highly effective and practical. They praised the instructors and content, which they found to be well-paced and immediately applicable to their work. Participants appreciated the program's focus on practical rather than ideal or theoretical concepts.

Here’s what participants said:

“I can use what I learned immediately.”

“I loved the content, and the instructors were terrific!”

“I loved how the classes were practical and not just ideal or theoretical.”
