About the instructor:
In 2018, I made Olympic history at the Winter Games, becoming the first African and Black woman to compete in Olympic skeleton. When I discovered that no African woman had ever competed in the Olympic skeleton, I saw an opportunity to take action.
I'm currently training for the next Winter Olympic Games and I also inspire audiences around the world. I've appeared in leading media outlets such as CNN, NBC, ESPN, USA Today, Essence, Forbes, and Sports Illustrated and the New York Times has hailed me as “a role model for Africa and beyond.”
Audiences have described my live experiences as being “captivating” and “highly actionable” with a "contagious energy and passion.” And now, I'm bringing my transformational tips directly to you with this online class through Electives!

Loved the "FIRST" acronym. Have already written it on my white board as a reminder every day. The lesson of not counting yourself out against what might be seemingly impossible odds - Simidele's only having 100 days to master this new sport would have kept many people (myself included) from even trying. A good reminder on challenging yourself, believing in yourself and not being afraid to fail.
