What you will learn:
Let's name it: “professionalism” largely maintains the status quo, a dominant culture centered on whiteness, patriarchy, and heteronormativity. How do we move away from white-dominant ways of developing others, and design career pathways that feel authentic to your team members?
Decolonizing “professional” development centers cultural capital and lived experience, and aims to create spaces where leaders of color feel seen, heard, and valued. This #wokeshop will dig into historical ways that workplaces center whiteness in career pathing, and offer strategies and tools to dismantle current practices. Thus, making room for a new paradigm and structures to uplift and develop your team.
