What you will learn:

The way that you define family might have a lot to do with the family that you grew up in. It's okay to have a definition for your own family, but it is also important to understand how family structures look today and continue to evolve. In this Elective we will come to understand things like: fertility journey, pregnancy loss, different paths to parenthood including surrogacy and adoption, interracial adoption, lgbtq adoption, co-parenting, and more.

Most importantly you will come away understanding why this all matters. You will learn how to be a powerful ally and supporter for your employees who may be in family structures that differ from yours, and might have needs in the workplace that you don't anticipate.
