What you will learn:
The course begins with Fanshen sharing the origin story of her name and how it connects to both how she perceives the world, and others perceive her. Participants are then encouraged to share their own stories - especially looking at perspectives related to DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility).
Together we will then build a common understanding of current terms and concepts around DEIA. The concepts include: racial/class/gender identity, invisible identity, intersectionality, privilege, whiteness, white fragility and using storytelling in pursuit of social justice.
We complete the course by sharing specific examples of tangible actions that can be taken in our personal lives, at work and in the world to help make positive and lasting change together and individually.
