This Elective is all about resetting yourself and re-engaging in your life. There is no such thing as work-life balance, especially in this post-COVID era. Instead, this involves a personal journey where each of us must determine what we need to do to create a sense of balance and well-being.

It all begins with mindfulness. I’ll debunk the myths about mindfulness and meditation. I'll guide you through a short practice. You'll see that mindfulness involves much more than paying attention to breathing or taking a yoga class. We will explore the benefits of mindfulness and help you create your own practice plan.

We will also explore every addiction that stands in the way of fulfillment and happiness. You will identify character strengths and personal values you can call upon in order to live the way you want to live. We'll breakout into groups where you can connect and share with others.

About the instructor:

Cheryl Jones is the Founder and CEO of Thriving Circles™ Global. Formerly the Director of Mindfulness at Aetna (a health care company with 45,000 employees), she received the Chairman's Leadership Award and the Norman Vincent Peale Award for bringing mindfulness to corporate culture. She has been recognized as one of the most powerful women of the mindfulness movement by Mindful Magazine.

As an entrepreneur with four startups under her belt, Cheryl Jones has been a recognized leader introducing evidenced-based practices and principles to help people flourish personally and professionally. Over the past 25 years, Cheryl has delivered hundreds of presentations across the U.S. on wellness, health, and mindfulness.

She was recruited by Aetna to lead the design and implementation of a commercial wellness coaching program engaging over 250,000 members across 52 customers (including Aetna employees). For nearly a decade, she functioned as an intrapreneur influencing without authority and executing to meet commitments aligned with strategic priorities.

Cheryl earned a master’s degree in health education and exercise science from the University of Connecticut, a B.S. degree from Central Connecticut State University, and a certificate in spirituality from the University of Saint Joseph. She completed extensive teacher training in the world-renowned Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program at the UMass Chan Medical School.

She is the author of two books; Thriving When Your Cosmic Egg Is Cracked: A Mindful Journey and Mindful Exercise: A Bridge Between Yoga and Exercise.

FUN FACT: Early in her career Cheryl was a personal fitness trainer to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Caroline Kennedy.
