What you will learn:
Employees want to feel confident in bringing their full selves to work and enjoy what they do. However, company culture and leadership expectations oftentimes compromises an employees ability to be their full selves. This leads to low levels of trust in the company, poor performance, decreased satisfaction, low productivity and increased insurance costs to name a few. When employees lose trust in a company, there are negative compounding effects on retention and recruitment, long-lasting diverse partnerships, and more.
During this uplifting Elective, we will define psychological safety and walk through the three critical principles in order to establish it. We will use real lived experiences that follow a framework for how we can increase psychological safety within our teams, and entire companies. Once we establish a shared understanding of the three principles, we learn about specific ways we can employ this as a leadership practice consistently for the days, months, and years to come.
