What you will learn:
I am the product of a single-mother household, the first in my family to go to college, and an Ecuadorian immigrant who moved to the U.S at the age of seven.
In this Elective, I will share my story of how being Latina has influenced my values, my vision, and the manner through which I've built my global non-profit that is dedicated to saving the planet. Additionally, I will share the struggles I've experienced as I navigated through two identities: American and Latin. Being from two unique backgrounds has been a never-ending challenge, yet it has shaped me into the person I am today. The struggle lies in balancing the dualities of both worlds, integrating traditions, beliefs, and experiences, and defining your existence to yourself and to others.
In this Elective we will reflect on why our identities and roots can help us create a more inclusive world for all.
