What you will learn:

Despite being widely viewed as the ‘most successful’ racial group, Asian Americans are the least likely to be promoted into leadership positions in America. In fact, Asian Americans are the most economically divided group in the US - meaning, there’s the largest gap between the lowest income group and the highest income groups.

In this Elective, we’ll explore three forces holding Asian Americans back in the workplace:
  • Our cultured tendencies and reflecting on beliefs and behaviors
  • The unique racial bias and aggressions Asian Americans face in the workplace
  • The Bamboo Ceiling and why it’s more enduring than the Glass Ceiling
Lastly, we will uncover how we can rise as Asian Americans, and what our allies can do to help.

Whether you identify as an Asian American or want to be an Ally to this identity group, you’ll leave more aware of the challenges AAPI face and hopefully be inspired to lead the change so that we can create a workplace where everyone can thrive.
