During this course participants will reflect upon how their implicit and explicit biases can impact the recruitment and interview processes. Participants will explore and analyze how biases can manifest themselves and influence how we think and make decisions more broadly. Through practice, participants will identify strategies to mitigate their biases moving forward. If you want to ensure that you and your team have the knowledge and skills to hire and select employees in an equitable and unbiased way, then this course is a must-take!

About the instructor:

Eldridge Gilbert III is a graduate of Brown University with Bachelor's degrees in Africana Studies and Psychology. Following Brown, Eldridge joined Teach For America and worked in Houston, TX for 11 years during which time he earned his MBA from the Jones School of Business at Rice University. While in Houston, he worked for YES Prep Public Schools and was the founding School Director (Principal) of YES Prep North Forest, a 6th -12th grade campus of 850 students. After leaving Houston, Eldridge worked as the Managing Director of Schools for KIPP Bay Area Public Schools. Eldridge currently lives in Brooklyn and serves as the Chief Schools Officer for Coney Island Prep Schools. Eldridge has led DEI and Leadership training for over 8 years for various organizations including New York City Charter School Center, Good Reason Houston, Teaching Trust (Dallas, TX), and the Myles Family Fellowship program for the KIPP Foundation. He also serves as a Principal Success Coach for the KIPP Foundation and earned his Professional Coaching certification in June of 2020.
