What you will learn:

Stephen Barr leads employees in a conversation on race and power in America. The class will explore the precursors, facts and events that contributed to the origins of Black History Month. Employees will learn about current and past luminaries within the Black community, the history of HBCUs, movements of social and civil unrest, and share suggested readings and viewing materials to gain more insights.

About the instructor:

Stephen Barr is the Vice President of Business Development at Univision Communications. Stephen has spent the last two decades in a variety of leadership roles in media predominantly based in New York City.

Outside of media, Stephen teaches at the NYU Stern School of Business as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor and was the 2020 recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award at MIT. Stephen serves on the Board of Advisors for True Diversity, a startup based in New York City.

Stephen is a proud Morehouse College graduate (English and Political Science), earned his Masters of Science (Management and Media) from NYU Stern and most recently completed his MBA from MIT Sloan.
