What you will learn:

We live in a globally interdependent world. All of us have a cultural lens which colors how we see, experience, and interact with others. I think of this as the 'mental operating software' of our normal. How we talk and listen to each other matters especially in the workspace. It has a strong influence on many outcomes for teams such as productivity, problem-solving, and creativity. People from different cultures have unique ways of relating, communicating, and collaborating with others at work.

This course invites you to consider the intercultural dynamics that are present in a global workforce that can enhance or hinder cohesive and innovative teamwork. Throughout this highly interactive learning experience, participants will strengthen their human connection skills across cultural diversity as they unlock the value of intercultural understanding in a shared virtual space. Teams that acknowledge and leverage cultural differences understand that innovation and creativity can be present at significant choice points at work. When we learn to gather perspective, get curious, see differently, and lean on collective wisdom, the possibilities of what is created are limitless.

Reimagining and rethinking how we leverage cultural diversity can be fun and fulfilling.

Participants will:
  • Virtually travel the globe to understand cultural dimensions and how it shapes possibilities for culturally diverse teams
  • Learn the benefits and challenges of cultural diversity in workspaces using an intercultural framework
  • Engage in interactive activities to spark curiosity and deep connections with others to better communicate across cultures
  • Practice intercultural sensitivity skills and strategies to bridge across difference
